what:    ironman distance offroad triathlon

This is going to be the very first long distance offroad triathlon in italy.  right in the heart of the island of Sicily, still green at this time of the year.

Swim is in the small lake Nicoletti  (400 mt above sea level ), and from here a great ride through the wheat fields of the dittano valley heading to the forests of

the Erei hills ( max altitude 850 mt ). Elevation gain for the bike section is about 5000 meters. Only about 10% of the 180 km of the course is on paved road, the

rest is on nice gravel roads, some sandy ones, and great single tracks.

All the run will be contained in the forest of Parco Minerario Floristella ( 600 mt above sea level ), along gravel roads and  single tracks. Elevation gain of the marathon is about 1000 meters.

There will be several cutoff times, but the final one is set at 24 hours after the start.
